We here at Design by Lion finally go on vacation. It’s been a while, but we need some time off without too much web access. We’ll be closing the shop Monday July 25th 2011 and Return August 7th 2011.
We’ll be heading to Rimini..staying in a
Rimini is a coastal resort town located on the Adriatic Sea in eastern Italy. The town is located in the Emilia Romagna region near Bologna,
Rimini is the center of the Italian Riviera because of its thousands of resorts where many Italians go for the beach and tans.
Rimini is easily accessible by air and train. It has an airport with buses running frequent. The train line runs along the coast.
The hotels are close to the beach and reached by walking.
Rimini has many sites. The Romans built the Augustus Arch to honor the Roman emperor. The Domus of the Surgeon is an archeological district about the Roman period. The Federico Fellini Museum is dedicated to the film director’s life and work. Piazza Cavour is the town square-center of government and the market. Piazza tre Martiri hosts the Roman Forum and clock tower, and more. The Malatesta Temple was built in the Renaissance and houses art of the time. S. Agobbstinos, a church of Romanesque Gothic design and built in the 1200s, has the tallest tower in Rimini.
Arrange time for all the goings-on.
Relax on the 15m of beaches called La Marina Centro,
Walk the boardwalk along the beach.
Shop downtown for Italian designer items in the boutiques.
Dining in Rimini:
Some of restaurants are IL Lurido, Da Guido, and Marinelli. Padino, delicious bread, is served with most meals. Because the city is on the sea, be sure to have sea food, At San Guiliano a Mare, people dine Al Fresco. Other restaurants just off the main street are Yummy and Osteria dell’Accademia-known for its Italian food.
Since Rimini is a tourist town, the town lights up at night. While Rimini does not have actual clubs, go to Riccione-the next town. Carnaby’s is on the edge of Rimini. Or visit the Sunflower Beach Bar.
We’ll be actually heading to a Hotel Riccione.
Riccione is a town near Rimini. Plan to lounge on the Riccione beach. The beach is run proficiently catering to cleanliness and safety. The bath businesses offer sun umbrellas, sun huts and showers.
Riccione is also known for night life. Riccone has many clubs for dancing and drinking including Pasha, Beach Café, Mojito, and Prince.
